When the bug had every outlaw farmer spawn with a crossbow they were downed pretty much without a fight by melee samurai/slavers. Just a group of crossbowguys seems to be too slow and inaccurate to fend off enemies without melee guys to help them. (armor probably also helps :p) Crossbows completely break the game.
